Pangolin released
LAKKI MARWAT: The Wildlife Department has released a pangolin in natural habitat after catching it from a house in Azeem Qila on Saturday.
“A local elder Malik Sohrab Khan Wazir informed the Wildlife Department officials about the presence of the pangolin in his house at Azeem Qila village near Bannu,” said District Forest Officer Khan Maluk.
“The elder approached us to send a team of wildlife officials to his house to catch the pangolin,” he added.
The official said that a team was sent to the area, which shifted the
pangolin to the wildlife park near Kurram bridge in Lakki Marwat.
He said the pangolin was four feet long and weighed 12kgs.
“The animal is among the endangered species and it has been protected under the law,” he added.
He said that the mammal was released in natural habitat in wildlife park near Kurram River in the presence of local people.
