Bano Bibi’s mother remanded for two days after viral confession
Gul Jan was presented before ATC following her arrest by the Serious Crime Investigation Wing a day earlier
QUETTA: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Quetta has handed over Gul Jan, the mother of murder victim Bano Bibi, to the Serious Crime Investigation Wing on a two-day physical remand in connection with the ‘honour killings’ case in Digari, Quetta.
Gul Jan was presented before the ATC following her arrest by the Serious Crime Investigation Wing a day earlier. Officials requested a two-day remand for further interrogation, which the court approved.
According to the investigation officer, Javed Buzdar, Gul Jan was arrested after a video surfaced on social media in which she openly confessed to killing her daughter, Bano Bibi. In the video, Gul Jan, holding a copy of the Holy Quran, admitted to the murder, stating that Bano Bibi was killed in the name of ‘honour’ and in accordance with Baloch tribal traditions.
She further claimed that the tribal leaders had no role in the incident and that no wrongful decision had been made by them. It should be noted that Bano Bibi and Ehsanullah were shot and killed around one and a half months ago in the Digari area.
