LAHORE: NAB Chairman Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmed along with a delegation visited the Board of Revenue on Friday.
Senior BoR Member Nabil Javed welcomed the NAB chairman who visited various branches of the board. Nabil gave a briefing to Nazir about the working of the Board of Revenue. He also gave a briefing on the jurisdiction and functions of the Board of Revenue. He said the board worked for policies related to state land, land acquisition, settlement, revenue collection and disaster prevention. Transparency, innovation and trust are the basic principles of the Board of Revenue. In the last two years, large-scale reforms have been introduced in the BoR. Increase in revenue collection, land record management, digitization, and administrative reforms have been introduced. Agricultural Income Tax Digitization Settlement of Record Land Acquisition and Management System and IT-Based State Land Management have been introduced. There is an excellent working relationship among all revenue collection institutions under the Punjab Revenue Policy Board. Reforms have been made in agricultural reforms and income tax audit and monitoring systems.
Nabil said reforms have been made in stamp duty transfer per land acquisition and property valuation. He also talked about the Plus Project. He said manual records have been digitized under the Plus Project. Punjab is the only province in Pakistan where all revenue records have been digitized. Digital Land Record Parcel Based System, Information System and Geospatial Structure have been upgraded. Briefing on the e-registration system, he said lawyers have been included in the Land Assistance Centres for transparency. The facility of e-registration will also be provided to overseas Pakistanis soon. Other provinces will be provided assistance in digitization. All record rooms related to the Board of Revenue are being digitized.
The NAB chairman appreciated the reforms and performance of the Board of Revenue. He said action would be taken against the societies and officers involved in corruption and illegal activities as per law.
