Noor loses to Malaysian lad
ISLAMABAD: 21-year old World No 196 Joachim Chuah of Malaysia stunned World Under-23 junior champion Noor Zaman in the Asian Individual Squash Championship underway in Malaysia on Wednesday.
With the surprising defeat, Noor even failed to make it to the quarter-finals. Noor was unable to maintain his composure in the fifth game which he lost 2-11. The Malaysian youngster won 11-3, 11-3, 3-11, 10-12, 11-2.
Experienced Nasir Iqbal, however, managed to make it to the quarter-finals beating Lai Cheuk Nam (Hong Kong, China) 3-1 (11-7, 2-11, 11-5, 11-8). Nasir will face Henry Leung (Hong Kong, China) in the quarterfinals today (Thursday). Results: Nasir Iqbal bt Lai Cheuk Nam (Hong Kong, China) 3-1 (11-7, 2-11, 11-5, 11-8); Noor Zaman lost to Joachim Chuah (Malaysia) 2-3 (3-11, 3-11, 11-3, 12-10, 2-11).
