FIA given time to submit challan in money-laundering case against Elahi
Pervez Elahi’s lawyer argues that if FIA had any evidence, it should be submitted to court
LAHORE: The Special Central Court, hearing a money laundering case against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and others, has given the FIA time till July 11 to submit the final challan.
The court also sought arguments from the FIA lawyer on the acquittal request. The prosecutor took the position that the board had approved the challan, but its letter was yet to be issued. Pervez Elahi’s lawyer argued that if the FIA had any evidence, it should be submitted to the court. “All properties of my client from 1993 to 2025 are legal. The case was made on political grounds, and no money laundering was involved. The corruption allegations against the Chaudhry brothers are based on complete lies. If the FIA has any proof, it should have come to light by now,” he maintained.
