‘Bilawal’s economic vision driving Sindh’s transformation’
The Sindh government is actively implementing a series of high-impact development and investment initiatives aimed at transforming the province into a regional economic hub.
According to a spokesperson for the Sindh government, Mustafa Abdullah Baloch, these efforts were being undertaken under the progressive economic vision of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Several flagship projects were currently underway, including Education City, Marble City, the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (SEZ), and the Sindh Enterprise Development Fund. These initiatives were strategically designed to enhance industrial capacity, attract both domestic and foreign investment, and create meaningful employment opportunities across the province.
Education City was envisioned as a hub of knowledge and innovation, offering world-class academic and research facilities to promote human capital development. Marble City aimed to leverage Sindh’s natural mineral resources to establish a value-added stone and marble industry with strong export potential.
The Dhabeji SEZ, a priority project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), was set to become a major industrial zone, offering investors modern infrastructure and proximity to Karachi’s ports. Meanwhile, the Sindh Enterprise Development Fund was supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), agribusinesses, and startups through improved access to finance and institutional backing. The Sindh government was also taking concrete steps to improve the ease of doing business, modernise infrastructure, and foster a business-friendly regulatory environment. These measures form part of a long-term strategy to position Sindh as a key driver of national economic growth.
“These projects are a direct reflection of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s commitment to a progressive and economically vibrant Sindh,” said Baloch. “Our focus is on sustainable development that benefits all segments of society and strengthens the province’s contribution to the national economy.” The government remained committed to inclusive growth, public-private partnerships, and innovation-led development, ensuring that Sindh remained at the forefront of Pakistan’s economic future.
