PU hostels’ income increases

LAHORE:The implementation of a transparent system for the first time in the financial affairs of boys and girls hostels of the Punjab University has increased the income of the year 2025, January to April, by 81.5 million compared to the year 2024, January to April.

According to a PU spokesperson, the new transparent system was implemented on the instructions of PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Ali and added the increase in recovery will help provide better facilities to the students in the hostels. He said that the income received from boys’ hostels in the first four months of the year 2024 was 26.4 million, which increased to 78.2 million in the year 2025, which is an increase of 51.5 million.

The income received from girls’ hostels in the first four months of the year 2024 was 88 million, which increased to 118 million in the first four months of 2025, and the total income increased by 30 million. PU spokesperson said that strict measures taken in the hostels on the instructions of Prof Dr M Ali have started to bear fruit.

PU gets 4th position in CWUR rankings

In the latest report of the Centre for World Universities Rankings (CWUR), Punjab University has further strengthened its reputation by securing the fourth position across the country.

On this achievement, Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali has said that this is a historical milestone as the university had not achieved such a prominent position in the international ranking before.

He said that this achievement is the result of the tireless work and dedication of our teachers, students engaged in research and every person of the university who is busy making the university a peaceful, stable and active institution in the field of knowledge, research and teaching.
