Eid cleanliness operation reviewed
LAHORE:A video link meeting of all divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners was convened under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman to review Eidul Azha preparations, with a particular focus on cleanliness arrangements and the prompt disposal of wastes of sacrificial animals.
During the meeting held at the Civil Secretariat on Monday, the Chief Secretary underscored the need for robust and timely arrangements to ensure the swift collection and proper disposal of remains of sacrificial animals. He directed all relevant departments to be fully prepared with a well-coordinated and efficient sanitation plan.
Commending last year’s efforts, the Chief Secretary noted that the arrangements had been praiseworthy. However, in accordance with the Chief Minister’s directives, this year’s operations must be further enhanced to set a new benchmark for service delivery, he added.
The Chief Secretary emphasised that any public complaint related to sanitation should be addressed within a maximum response time of 30 minutes. He mentioned that to ensure public convenience, official cattle markets have been established across all districts. The Chief Secretary also instructed the district administrations to continue the crackdown on illegal sale points ahead of the Eid.
