Earthquake of 3.6 magnitude jolts parts of Karachi
An earthquake of 3.6 magnitude was felt in several parts of the city on Sunday evening, Geo News reported. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said the epicentre of the earthquake was at a depth of 10km near Quaidabad.
The earthquake struck the city at 5:33pm, added the seismic monitoring centre. Though no damage or injury were reported, residents panicked after feeling the tremors. On March 31 a 4.7-magnitude earthquake had hit the city and its surrounding areas. The PMD had said the earthquake struck at 4:11pm, with its epicentre 75km north of the city at a depth of 19km.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake was of 4.6 magnitude, with its epicentre 65km east-south-east of Uthal in Balochistan and its depth at 10km.
