Rawalpindi: Chairman Chief Minister Inspection Team, Raja Muhammad Hanif on Saturday visited the cleanliness awareness camp set up by the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) in preparation for Eidul Azha.

During the visit, he distributed biodegradable waste bags and awareness pamphlets to citizens, encouraging safe disposal of animal waste during the Eid holidays.

Earlier, RWMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rana Sajid Safdar gave a detailed briefing to Raja Hanif about the company’s Eid cleanliness plan.

He informed that hundreds of sanitation workers have been deployed across the city.

A round-the-clock monitoring system and a quick complaint redressal mechanism have also been activated to ensure timely removal of sacrificial waste, he told.

While speaking on the occasion, Raja Hanif emphasised that keeping the environment clean was both a civic and religious obligation.

He praised the RWMC’s preparations and said the efforts made to facilitate the public are commendable.

He added that, following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, sanitation systems were being improved across the province and Rawalpindi would be a model for other districts.

Raja Hanif also directed RWMC officers to remain in the field during all three days of Eid and personally supervise operations to ensure cleanliness.
