TANK: The district administration has directed the heads of government departments to shift their offices from Tank and Dera Ismail Khan to Ladha, the headquarters of newly created Upper South Waziristan.
Deputy Commissioner of Upper South Waziristan, Saleem Jan Marwat, issued a letter to the heads of all government departments in Upper South Waziristan, instructing them to immediately relocate their offices from Tank and Dera Ismail Khan to the district headquarters in Ladha.
According to letter No. 682-96/DC SWU, dated Ladha 26/05/2025, issued by the deputy commissioner, the heads of various government departments of Upper South Waziristan, including district education officers (male and female), district health officer, executive engineers Communication and Works, Irrigation and Public Health, divisional wildlife officer, divisional forest officer, tehsil municipal officer Ladha/Sawakai, assistant director Local Government and Rural Development Department, district sports officer and district youth Affairs officer were directed to relocate their offices to Ladha.
The letter said that the district administration had already moved its offices to the new district headquarters, therefore, all heads of government departments must open their offices in the new district headquarters.Tribal elders have complained that heads of many departments are still working in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan.
They said that officers, who were reluctant to move to the new district headquarters in Ladha, should be replaced with active and committed officers.The tribal elders added that some officers were using their political influence to delay or avoid the transfer of offices. They demanded strict action against those officers who were using delaying tactics or political clout to continue working from Tank and Dera Ismail Khan.
