Two women were killed by their husbands in separate incidents of domestic violence in Karachi on Friday. Meanwhile, another woman was injured in the Korangi area.

One of the killings took place in Orangi Town's Fareed Colony within the limits of the Mominabad police station where a man, Gul Sher, allegedly opened fire on his wife inside their home.

As a result of the firing, the woman, identified as 56-year-old Rukhsana, was critically injured and rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police said the suspect managed to flee the scene and they had launched a search operation to apprehend him. A case has been registered. In another incident, a woman was killed by her husband in Gulshan-e-Maymar's Mullah Essa Goth. According to police and family sources, 22-year-old Aqsa was allegedly tortured and then shot in the head by her husband Ismail.

Her body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police said the suspect, who was previously married and was the father of four children, was arrested from the scene along with the weapon used in the crime.

Aqsa’s family revealed that she had contracted love marriage with Ismail about six months ago without her family’s consent. In Korangi, a 22-year-old woman, Shazia, wife of Rashid, was shot and injured by the firing of a man identified as Raju during a personal dispute on Ghaus Pak Road near the JK Market. The injured woman was shifted to the JPMC. Further investigations are under way.
