Pakistan, France discuss ways to boost trade and investment
They discussed ways to increase bilateral trade, promote joint business initiatives, and connect business communities of both nations
PARIS: Pakistan and France are looking to strengthen their trade and investment ties. Pakistani Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, met with Ms Claire Chermetinsky, Deputy Director General at the French Treasury, to explore new economic opportunities between the two countries.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to increase bilateral trade, promote joint business initiatives, and connect the business communities of both nations. They also talked about Pakistan’s trade relations with the European Union, especially under the GSP Plus scheme, which gives Pakistan easier access to EU markets. Both sides agreed on the importance of supporting global trade through cooperation at the World Trade Organization. The need for continued economic and financial reforms in Pakistan was also highlighted during the talks.
