Challengers, Stars win in National T20 Tournament
KARACHI: The Challengers and Stars won their matches in the National Women T20 Tournament on Tuesday.
At the National Bank Stadium, the Challengers defeated Strikers by 77 runs. Batting first, the Challengers scored 168 runs for 7 wickets with Sadaf Shamas’ 53 runs while Yusra Amir scored 39 runs.
Noreen Yaqoob took 3 wickets for 39 runs. In reply, the Strikers were bowled out for 91 runs. Iman Fatima scored 34 while Rabiya Rani took 3 wickets for just 1 run in 4 overs. Sadaf Shamas was named Player of the Match.
At the Oval Academy Ground, Stars defeated Conquerors by 5 wickets. Batting first, Conquerors posted 119 runs for 7 wickets. Syeda Aroob Shah scored 46 runs while Najia Alvi was not out on 43. Anosha Nasir and Tuba Hassan each took two wickets. Stars chased the target in the 18th over with 5 wickets down. Horeena Sajjad scored 38 runs and Tuba Hassan hit 26 runs. Nashra Sandhu took two wickets. Tuba Hassan was named Player of the Match.
Meanwhile, Conquerors have qualified for the final that is to be held on May 24 while Stars and Challengers will play the qualifier on May 22.
