One killed, 6 hurt in Upper Dir road mishap

DIR: A man was killed and six others injured in a road accident in the Charkom area of Upper Dir on Saturday.
A spokesman for Rescue 1122 said that the tragic accident occurred near Narhand Khwar in Charkom after a collision between a flying coach and a car.
“The car plunged into the Panjkora River after the collision,” he said, adding one person died on the spot while six others sustained serious injuries. He said the emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene and first aid was provided to the injured and were shifted to the nearby hospital. The injured persons included Tahir Jamal (resident of Dir), Muhammad Islam, Ali Zaman and Tariq Zaman. Sources said that the vehicle involved in the accident was part of a wedding convoy.
