Rawalpindi:Additional District and Sessions Judge Afshan Ijaz Sufi has sentenced two men to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 400,000 in a case involving the sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy.
The case was registered by Kotli Satian police on July 17 last year under Sections 377-B and 376(iii) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The accused, Shaban Pervez and Faizan — residents of Dhoke Barhotar, Kotli Satian — were charged with sexually assaulting the child while he was on his way to school.
Following the completion of the trial, the court found both accused guilty and sentenced each of them to 14 years of imprisonment with hard labor, along with a fine of Rs200,000. In case of non-payment, the convicts will face an additional six months in prison. The court also granted the benefit of Section 382-B of the Criminal Procedure Code, allowing the time already spent in detention to be deducted from their total sentence.
