Ban or recycle?

This refers to the letter ‘Plastic bags ban (May 8, 2025) by Mohd Bakhtyar. The writer has rightly argued against use of plastic bags due to their detrimental effect on environment. However, it is important to acknowledge that these bags are cheap and convenient and perfect for carrying goods, especially food. Instead of bans, Pakistan should upgrade its recycling systems in order to counter the adverse effects of plastic bags.
