Labour unions pledge full support to armed forces
LAHORE : Representatives of various national labour unions, in a joint resolution passed at a workers’ convention, pledged full support to Pakistan armed forces - Army, Navy, and Air Force - in any emergency situation.
The resolution declared their resolve to defeat what they termed as conspiracies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticised Modi’s treatment of Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs in India. The speakers condemned recent missile and drone attacks by Indian forces targeting religious sites and civilians, calling them violations of international law.
The meeting was addressed by General Secretary of the Federation Khurshid Ahmad along with Osama Tariq, Hassan Munir Bhatti (Wapda), Nosher Khan, Syed Salah-ud-Din Ayoubi (PWD), Javed Iqbal Khan (Goods Transport), Arshad Gujjar (Irrigation), Shafqat Javed, Haji M Younas, Muzaffar Mateen, Zahida Akhtar, Rizwan Munir, Ijaz Pehlwan and others.
