Islamabad: A condolence meeting was held at the Information Services Academy to pay tribute to the late Khawaja Ejaz Sarwar, former Federal Secretary of Information and Broadcasting.
The gathering was attended by serving and retired officers of the Information Group as well as prominent journalists, reflecting the profound respect he commanded across professional and personal circles, says a press release.
The event was marked by heartfelt tributes from senior bureaucrats and media personalities who highlighted the contributions of Khawaja Ejaz Sarwar to the Information Ministry and the nation at large.
Ashfaq Gondal, former Federal Secretary, in his address, recalled his longstanding association with Khawaja Sarwar. He described him as a guiding figure known for his calm demeanour, unwavering professionalism, and generous mentorship. “He was always ready to support his juniors and handled challenges with grace-qualities that remain exemplary for today’s officers,” Mr. Gondal said.
The condolence meeting was also attended by Farhatullah Babar, batch-mate of Khawaja Ejaz Sarwar and Ali Bilal son of the late Khawaja Sahib, whose presence added a deeply personal dimension to the tribute.
The meeting concluded with a ‘dua’ for the departed soul, led by Ashfaq Gondal. Attendees expressed their collective grief and acknowledged the loss of a distinguished civil servant whose legacy of service and humanity will be remembered for years to come.
