Security operations across province intensified

LAHORE:Amid rising border tensions, Punjab Police have intensified security operations across the province.

In the last 24 hours, 380 combing operations were conducted, over 14,000 individuals checked, and 61 suspects detained. Separately, 32 sweep operations led to the interrogation of 3,483 people and arrest of four suspects. A total of 167 proclaimed offenders, 155 court absconders, and 53 habitual criminals were apprehended. Meanwhile, the mock drills involving Punjab Police, Elite Force, CTD, Rescue 1122, and Bomb Disposal Squad are also underway to ensure readiness for any emergency.

13,314 illegal foreigners deported

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance border security, Punjab Police have deported 13,314 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghans, from the province. According to the police spokesperson, 13,350 individuals were moved to holding centres, with 36 still present at holding points.

Two cops excel in WPS

Two officers from Punjab Police have secured prominent positions in the World Police Summit (WPS) awards. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, ASP Anam Sher Khan, SDPO City Circle Sargodha, has been awarded first position, while DPO Kasur M Essa Khan has secured second place in their respective international award categories. The WPS awards assessed the performance of police officers from 192 countries across various categories.
