MQM-P protests against Indian aggression, shows solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Thursday staged a demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club to condemn Indian acts of unprovoked aggression targeting civilians in Pakistan and express solidarity with the Pakistan armed forces bravely fighting against the enemy forces.
A large number of activists and supporters of the MQM-Pakistan, holding national and party flags, attended the demonstration. Speaking to the demonstrators, MQM-P senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar said the current regional situation had once again validated the decision of their forefathers to establish a separate homeland for the Muslims in the Indian subcontinent.
He said the Pakistan Army would remain steadfast against extremist and expansionist designs of the present Indian regime. Dr Sattar said that untrained fighter pilots from India had been fighting with Pakistan without any national motivation or zeal.
He said the Pakistani forces this time would shoot down a full squadron of the Indian fighter planes. He said the hostile and belligerent conduct of India had threatened global peace. He told the demonstrators that there would be no compromise on the security, solidarity, autonomy, and sovereignty of Pakistan.
Dr Sattar said Pakistani forces had been fighting with fullest devotion and commitment to defeat a sheer show of extremism and aggression by India. He paid tribute to civilians who had lost their lives in the recent Indian strikes on Pakistan.
He demanded that the World Bank take penal action against India for suspending the Indus Basin Treaty. He said that India had violated international laws by preventing the flow of river water towards Pakistan.
Senator Faisal Sabzwari said the Pakistani soldiers were blessed with patriotism and full devotion to their motherland while fighting the enemy forces. He appealed to the international community to take notice of the sheer show of Indian aggression.
He said Pakistan had always opposed war, but it would strongly retaliate against unprovoked Indian aggression to defend the motherland.
Senator Nasreen Jalil condemned the Indian attacks on Pakistani soil. She said Pakistan would strongly react to any military adventurism threatening the solidarity and sovereignty of Pakistan. She said that Pakistan had to unduly face Indian aggression.
She said India should have conducted an impartial probe into the attack on tourists in the occupied Kashmir before unduly blaming Pakistan.
Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Ali Khurshidi, who is also from the MQM-Pakistan, said the demonstration had been held at the press club to show solidarity with the motherland. He said all the countrymen would remain fully united against Indian acts of aggression and violence. He said the entire Pakistani nation in all the regions of the country stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their armed forces.
