Strikers, Challengers win matches in National T20

KARACHI: Two matches were decided on the second day of the National Women’s T20 Tournament on Thursday. In the first match at National Bank Stadium here, Strikers defeated Invincibles by 7 wickets.

In response to Invincibles’ total of 134 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, Strikers achieved the target with 3 wickets down in the final over. For Invincibles, Saiqa Rizvi top-scored with 58 runs, including one six and 8 fours. Muneeba Ali made 31 runs. The opening partnership between the two was 80 runs.

For Strikers, Um-e-Hani took 3 wickets for 18 runs. From Strikers, Iman Fatima stood out by making an unbeaten 42 runs, including one six and 6 fours. Captain Gul Firoza scored 41 runs. Iman Fatima was named Player of the Match.

At Oval Ground, Challengers defeated Stars by 4 wickets as Stars were all out for 116 runs in 20 overs with Sidra Nawaz’s 27 runs not out. Challengers’ Rameen Shameem and Zeba Nisa each took 2 wickets. \Challengers achieved the target with 6 wickets down in the final over. Sadaf Shams scored 32 runs, and Captain Rameen Shameem was unbeaten on 21. For Stars, Tuba Hassan took 3 wickets. Rameen Shameem was named Player of the Match.
