SAP accelerates digital transformation
KARACHI: SAP has entered the second phase of its digital expansion in Pakistan, aiming to transform both public institutions and private industries. Managing Director for SAP Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and Bahrain Saquib Ahmad shared the company’s latest milestones during a media briefing.
“SAP is with every customer now. Our new products cut business costs and boost workforce efficiency,” he said.From cloud migration to AI-driven workflows, SAP is helping organisations like PSO, Pakistan Railways, and major oil and gas firms streamline audits and improve transparency. Ahmad emphasised SAP’s goal of making advanced digital solutions accessible for more businesses to accelerate growth.
Government agencies are also adopting SAP systems to digitise utilities and financial processes. The Auditor General of Pakistan now uses SAP for national budget management, while major Discos have implemented SAP to improve efficiency.
SAP is also focused on developing local talent. Director Midmarket & NNN Shmuel Ali said SAP’s free training and tools are enabling Pakistani youth and SMEs to access global tech careers.
“Pakistani youth trained on SAP are now leading in the Middle East,” said Shmuel. SAP has partnered with universities and trained thousands under its University Alliance Program, now active across major institutions.
Meanwhile, Director Large Enterprise Fahad Zahid noted that AI and cloud adoption are driving agility in sectors like energy, telecom and automotive. “Cloud solutions have slashed costs and AI is revolutionising HR,” he said.
