Two arrested in cop’s murder case
KOHAT: Two key suspects involved in the murder of martyred police constable were arrested, police officials said on Wednesday.
Regional Police Officer (RPO), Kohat, Abbas Majeed Marwat told reporters that the arrested suspects had a personal enmity with Constable Niaz Marjan, which led them to commit the murder. District Police Officer (DPO) Karak Shahbaz Elahi and SP CTD Saadat Khan were also present on the occasion.
He said both the accused have confessed to the crime during interrogation, and further investigation was currently underway. The suspects were also presented before the media. The RPO said that the incident was not related to terrorism in any way and was purely a result of personal grievances.
RPO Marwat reiterated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police had made countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism and remained committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the public. “The police will go to any extent to maintain peace and protect the citizens, “ he added.
