The Sindh Boards and Universities Department has imposed a ban on co-curricular activities/events based on controversial topics in universities across the province.

In a letter written by Kamal Ahmed, Section Officer of the Boards and Universities Department to all vice chancellors of the province, it has been said that the vice chancellors of all public sector universities should refrain from issuing such NOCs for co-curricular activities/events, especially those based on controversial topics.

The letter has said that if an NOC has been given for co-curricular activities/events based on controversial topics, it should be withdrawn immediately.

According to sources, this ban has been imposed in the context of the Islamabad administration banning a stage play by renowned playwright and satirist so that such programmes can be prevented from being held in Sindh universities.
