Pilac DG inquires after poet

LAHORE:Director General of the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (Pilac), Benish Fatima Sahi, visited renowned Punjabi poet Baba Najmi at his residence to inquire after his health and presented him with flowers. She was accompanied by Director Khaqan Haider Ghazi and Deputy Director Shafaat Abbas.

Speaking on the occasion, DG said, 'Baba Najmi is a treasured asset to us, and the Punjabi language takes pride in him.' She also prayed for his long life. It is worth noting that Baba Najmi, an internationally acclaimed Punjabi poet, has been suffering from a heart disease and recently suffered a stroke that affected his voice. However, his health has now significantly improved.

DRAP’s ex-CEO grieved

Mother of Asim Rauf, ex-CEO of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), passed away on Monday. She had been under treatment for pneumonia in Services Hospital Lahore, said family sources. She was laid to rest in Johar Town cemetery. Chief Executive Officer of DRAP Dr Abdullah and other health officers also attended her funeral prayers.
