Man shot dead, five hurt by stray bullets

A man was killed in a firing incident in Mochko, while five others, including two minors and an elderly woman, were injured in separate cases of stray bullets in different parts of the city.

Unidentified assailants opened fire near the Star Bypass crush plant in Raees Goth, Baldia Town, within Mochko police jurisdiction. Abdul Rasheed, 50, a labourer and resident of Priya Goth, died on the spot. Police are investigating the incident from various angles, though the motive behind the killing remains unknown.

Muneeba Khalid, 12, was injured by a stray bullet of unknown origin inside her home near Al-Quraish Masjid in Orangi Town’s Altaf Nagar. She was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Sameer was wounded by a stray bullet in Korangi’s Mehran Town, while Nauman, who was working at a motorbike repair shop in Korangi’s Sector 51-C, was also injured by a stray bullet.

Nusrat, 60, was wounded inside her house in Orangi Town’s Sector 7-C after being struck by a stray bullet, while Arhan, 14, was critically injured and taken to a hospital after being hit in the head by a stray bullet near a bus stop in Baldia Town No. 4.
