ABBOTTABAD: The 5th ‘Women Artisans Exhibition’ was officially inaugurated at Kimmy’s Cottage Industry on Saturday, showcasing a remarkable initiative for women’s empowerment.
The event highlights the potential of women at the household level, encouraging them to bring their handmade products to the market. Munaza Hayat, Chairperson of Kimmy’s Cottage, welcomed the participants as women from across Abbottabad gathered to display their craftsmanship.
By providing a platform for female artisans to exhibit and sell their work, the exhibition promotes economic independence and self-sufficiency. Notably, Ambassador of Empowering Women and former MPA Amina Sardar has pledged not to take any commission from the artisans, ensuring they retain full earnings from their labor-a significant step toward fostering financial autonomy.
Held at Kimmy’s Cottage Industry, the event also raises awareness about local craftsmanship and supports grassroots entrepreneurship. The collaborative efforts of the Hazara Women Association (HWA), Al-Nisa, and Kimmy’s Cottage Industry deserve recognition for organizing this empowering initiative.
