IJT workers allegedly injured PU guards
LAHORE : Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) activists allegedly attacked and injured two security guards of Punjab University (PU).
According to a PU spokesperson, IJT’s activists were asked for their identification during security guards’ checking at a gate, and IJT workers Zain Sarfraz, Ghazanfar Ali, Muhammad Anis, Shamrez Mumtaz, Zain Shaukat, Samiullah, Usman Ahmed and Hammad Raza allegedly attacked the guards.
He said the security guards had asked IJT’s trustee Zohaib Fakhri and Nazim Hammad Raza for their identification at the gate. He said most of the IJT workers involved in the attack have been expelled.
The spokesperson said in the future, if any expelled IJT worker was seen, he will be referred to the police. He said strict checking will continue as usual at the gates of the university.
