Both candidates of party spoke about improvement of common Canadian citizen while citing party manifesto
TORONTO: Organizations of Canadian Muslim voters jointly invited election candidates from all parties for a debate in their city of Milton and surrounding areas.
Two candidates of the Liberal Party and as many candidates of NDP and an independent participated in the debate and stated their positions and answered questions while no candidate of the Canadian Conservative Party participated in it.
In the debate, organized by the Muslim Advisory Council of Canada, each participant was given time to express their position and answer questions. Led by the Canadian Sikh Jagmeet Singh, the NDP, which has been cooperating with the government of Liberal Party of Canada in the past years, both candidates of the party spoke about the improvement of common Canadian citizen while citing the party manifesto.
An independent Muslim candidate said he was running as an independent so that he could express his position without being bound by the restrictions of political loyalties.
A female candidate of the Liberal Party, Mrs Christina, called Pakistanis and other Muslim voters in her constituency an asset. Talking to Jang/Geo, the two Liberal candidates called Pakistani cuisine their favorite food, while Adam claimed that he could eat Pakistani biryani for six days a week. He also mentioned his past performance with regard to bringing the constituency’s issues to the government.
