PHCBA Abbottabad chapter elects office-bearers

ABBOTTABAD: Khurram Ghiyyas was elected as President of Peshawar High Court Bar Association, Abbottabad Circuit Bench, in the annual elections held here.In a closely contested one-on-one race, Ghiyyas defeated Javed Tanoli by 67 votes while securing 614 votes. Tanoli got 547 votes.

For the position of general secretary, Naseer Tanoli emerged victorious with 623 votes, while his rival, Khalid Rabbani got 510 votes. In the contest for vice president, Chaudhry Abdul Rauf secured the seat with 531 votes. His competitors, Saeed-ur-Rehman and Rabia Gul, received 337 and 214 votes respectively.

Zulfiqar Shah was elected as Library Secretary, defeating Nazish Pervez in another one-on-one contest by a margin of 55 votes. Shah received 603 votes, while Pervez secured 548.Those who were elected unopposed included Malik Tanveer as Additional Secretary and Amber Maqsood as Finance Secretary. Out of a total of 1,357 registered voters, 1,165 lawyers cast their votes in the election.
