Rawalpindi : The Punjab Arts Council (PAC) Rawalpindi and the Centre for Culture & Development (C2D), Gandhara Resource Centre Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today in a ceremony held in Rawalpindi, marking a significant step toward preserving and promoting Pakistan’s cultural heritage.
According to the details, under the MoU, both the institutions will organise joint initiatives, including workshops, seminars, art exhibitions, cultural festivals, and research programs to encourage public participation, particularly among youth.
The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration to promote arts, culture, research, and training, with a focus on preserving Pakistan’s diverse traditions, supporting artists, and enhancing cultural engagement.
Speaking at the event, Sajjad Hussain, Director PAC underlined the importance of the partnerships in reviving Pakistan’s artistic legacy. He termed the MoU a major step in promoting cultural exchange and providing opportunities for emerging artists.
Sarah Mahmood, Director of Gandhara Resource Centre Pakistan, highlighted the role of joint efforts in cultural preservation. "The shared resources would help create meaningful programs celebrating heritage while contributing to socio-economic growth", she said.
