Water as weapon
India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, under the pretext of the Pahalgam attack, is a hypocritical act of aggression. It is effectively weaponising water to punish Pakistani civilians. By violating this crucial international agreement, India threatens millions dependent on the Indus River, risking drought, famine and economic collapse. The UN must take strict action: impose sanctions, demand treaty reinstatement and refer India to the International Court of Justice for breach of international law. Allowing such water warfare sets a dangerous precedent, justifying collective punishment. The world cannot remain silent and must hold India accountable before its actions trigger a humanitarian disaster in Pakistan.
