LAHORE: In a major step toward revitalising domestic cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has established a high-profile committee tasked with proposing key reforms and improvements. The move underscores PCB’s commitment to strengthening the foundation of cricket in the country.
The committee comprises prominent figures, including Chairman PCB Advisor Bilal Afzal, Chief Operating Officer Sameer Syed, Director Champions Event Wahab Riaz, Selection Committee member Aaqib Javed, and Head of the Regional Cricket Association Lahore, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed. This elite panel is expected to submit its recommendations to PCB’s top officials within five days, paving the way for comprehensive changes to the domestic cricket structure.
Abid Hussain, Manager Cricket Operations for Lahore Region Cricket Association, expressed his enthusiasm for the committee’s formation and congratulated Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed on his inclusion. “I congratulate the President of the Lahore Region, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed, on his inclusion in this high-profile committee and hope that, given his vast experience, he will play a significant role in the improvement and reforms of domestic cricket,” Hussain remarked. “The PCB’s initiative is anticipated to set new benchmarks in domestic cricket, leveraging the expertise of its committee members to address existing challenges and enhance opportunities for players at the grassroots level.”
