Major boost to China-Pakistan trade ties: Khunjerab Pass reopens for year-round trade

GILGIT: The Khunjerab Pass--a key trade route between Pakistan and China -- has officially been opened for year-round trade, in what officials call a major step forward in regional cooperation and economic integration.
The announcement was made during a high-level virtual ceremony, attended by senior officials from Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region and China’s Xinjiang province, including GB Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan and senior representatives from the city of Kashgar.
