PARACHINAR: An influential Afghan police official ‘kidnapped’ four Pakistanis, including a lady doctor, after his brother was killed in the recent clashes between the security forces of Pakistan and Afghanistan at Torkham, sources said on Wednesday.
The sources said the Afghan cop, Sadi Khan, released two of the kidnapped persons including the lady doctor after he was paid Rs5 million as ransom.The sources added that the Afghan police official had kidnapped the three Pakistanis, including Dr Sajida, Islam Gul and Hidayat Khan, from a hospital in Shehr-e-Nau town in Afghanistan’s Khost province bordering Kurram Agency.
The sources said Farooq, the brother of Dr Sajida, was also kidnapped by the same cop when he went to Afghanistan to resolve the issue.According to the sources, Sadi Khan demanded Rs100 million for their release. However, he freed the lady doctor and her brother after getting Rs5 million.The Afghan cop is demanding Rs8 million for the release of the remaining two Pakistanis, Islam Gul and Hidayat Khan.
