LAHORE: A long-standing enmity between two rival groups erupted into a deadly exchange of fire in Shahdara on Saturday, leaving one person dead and three others injured. According to police sources, the clash broke out between the Omar group and the Zeeshan group, both known to have a history of tensions. During the gunfire, one individual, identified as Munir, was killed on the spot, while three others — Shah Zain, Waqas, and Azeem — sustained injuries. Upon receiving reports of the incident, police responded and arrested two suspects, Omar and Tayyab. Police also recovered weapons from the suspects’ possession. The injured were promptly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, while Munir's body was transported to the hospital for a postmortem examination via an Edhi ambulance. Legal proceedings have been initiated and further investigations are underway.
