Islamabad: Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) organised an ceremony at its Islamabad Campus during which laptops were distributed to 710 MS. and PhD students, under Phase-II of the Prime Minister’s Scheme.
The excited students received the latest laptop machines with specifications enabling them to be both as a computer and as well as a notepad. In addition, an internet device was also the part of the package.
The chief guest at the ceremony, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, was received by CIIT Rector, Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, registrar and in-charge CIIT, Islamabad Campus.
The ceremony was held at the seminar hall of Islamabad Campus. Professor Dr. Raheel Qamar, in-charge Campus delivered the welcome address. Makhdoom Adeel, chief coordinator of Prime Minister’s Youth Program, briefed the faculty and students regarding the six major initiatives taken by them.
While addressing the faculty and students, chief guest Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed appreciated the performance of CIIT, in general, and the contribution of Rector CIIT in particular. He also emphasized on quality education and productive research work and its impact on society.
CIIT Rector Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, gave the vote of thanks and lauded the efforts of the Prime Minister for launching of various programs for the benefit country’s youth and appreciated the successful execution the scheme.
