LAHORE: Scattered rain with widespread lightning was witnessed in the provincial metropolis, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib and Gujranwala on Wednesday night.
After a hot day, the city’s atmosphere changed at night with light windstorm, which later changed into cool breeze.
MET officials said amalgamation of a wersterly system and local depression created this weather. They predicted moderate to heavy rain during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, as the weather changed, Wasa MD Ghafran Ahmad directed the field formation to be ready to handle any emergency situation. He visited pumping stations and ensured availability of generators and extra fuel. He warned that no negligence would be tolerated.
