KARACHI: Vice Captain of Karachi Kings Hasan Ali said that top-order collapse led to their defeat against the Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing PSL.
“We lost early wickets, couldn’t build partnerships, and the pressure mounted,” said Hasan while talking to media in the post-match conference, adding that the team played well in the opening match but their batting didn’t work.
When asked about James Vince and David Warner’s dismissal, the pacer downplayed the impression of relying too much on foreign players. “It’s not correct to say that we’re depending heavily on our overseas players. The main issue was that we couldn’t build solid partnerships, and the frequent loss of wickets hurt our momentum,” reasoned Hasan.
He further stated that the tournament is still in its early stages, and the team is experimenting with different combinations to find the right balance. Hasan mentioned that players like Arafat are being utilized as key bowlers, while Khushdil Shah is being tested in the role of an all-rounder.
“We are using Arafat as a main player while Khushdil Shah is included in the line-up as an all-rounder,” said Hasan, adding that he would try his best to fulfill the responsibility of vice-captaincy.
“It’s an honor to be appointed VC by such a big franchise. The next season is still far away, and I can’t say anything about it yet. But if I am given the responsibility, I will fulfill it to the best of my ability,” he concluded. Hasan Ali also expressed support for Babar Azam during the briefing by stating that Babar is our best player and he will bounce back.
