Poppy crops destroyed

KHAAR: Poppy crops grown over 60 kanals of land were destroyed in Salarzai Tehsil of the Bajaur tribal district, said officials on Monday.

Under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan and Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Khar Sadiq Ali, Tehsildar Anwar Hussain launched an anti-poppy operation in collaboration with the police, representatives of the Agriculture and Forest Departments.The officials said during the campaign, 60 kanals of poppy crops were destroyed in Salarzai, while an additional 141 kanals were cleared in various areas of Barang Tehsil.
