LAHORE:A violent altercation broke out at Allama Iqbal International Airport where customs officials allegedly assaulted a female passenger.

A disturbing video of the incident has surfaced, showing a female customs officer dragging the passenger by her hair in the airport lounge. Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos as the passenger's family screamed for help, but no one intervened. The clash allegedly began over baggage clearance issues.

The incident has sparked public outrage, with demands for an impartial investigation into the conduct of customs officials and the treatment of passengers. According to sources, a group of female passengers arriving from Abu Dhabi became upset when their luggage was not cleared by customs. A confrontation ensued when one of the passengers’ traditional bridal outfit (lehenga) was flagged during inspection. The situation quickly escalated into physical violence, with both sides slapping each other. In the video, customs staff can be seen dragging a passenger by her hair, while the woman reportedly hit customs officials with her shoe. Customs authorities stated that the altercation began when the passenger resisted luggage inspection. The involved woman has been taken into custody.

According to police, an altercation broke out between three burqa-clad passengers and customs officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport after the women allegedly attempted to smuggle commercial goods, including security cameras and designer clothing. The incident occurred when the passengers—arriving from Abu Dhabi—refused to declare 24 security cameras and 40kg of high-end garments. The confrontation escalated into physical violence, with the accused allegedly threatening a female customs officer, Mah Noor, and damaging government property. An FIR has been registered at Sarwar Road Police Station under charges of smuggling, interference in official duties, and intimidation. Officials claim the women snatched confiscated items and handed them over to unidentified accomplices.
