Nurse alleges harassment in hospital

LAHORE A SENIOR nurse working at the Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Buzdar (SFMKB)- 1C Hospital has lodged a formal complaint against a store keeper, alleging workplace harassment and misconduct. In a written complaint addressed to the hospital medical superintendent, the assistant head nurse (AHN) at the Angio Ward reported that she was harassed by Store Keeper Ziaullah, following a training session held on the hospital’s third floor. The incident reportedly took place around 10:30am when Ziaullah used inappropriate language and attempted to pressure her into accepting an amount of Rs15,000 as Eidi. She called

for strict disciplinary action against the alleged offender. “He harassed me and used unofficial language,” she said and urged the administration to ensure a safe and respectful work environment. Talking to The News, Abdul Rehman Chandia, medical superintendent (MS) Cardiology, said: “I have received an enquiry. InshaAllah, action will be taken against the culprit if the allegations are proven. We are committed to maintaining a peaceful and respectful working environment. Such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances as the administration has a policy of zero tolerance in this regard. ” Talking to The News, Ziaullah said the allegations against him were baseless.
