Man ‘stabbed by councillor’ succumbs to injuries

HYDERABAD: A young man who was stabbed in the Hali Road area of Hyderabad succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Karachi on Friday.

After the body of Muhammad Khalid Sheikh was shifted from Karachi to Hyderabad, the relatives of the slain youth held a protest outside the Hyderabad Press Club, Legislators of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) also attended in the protest.

Muhammad Sajid, the father of the deceased youth, stated that his son was stabbed with a knife two weeks ago over a trivial matter. He was shifted to Karachi for treatment but could not survive.

The father alleged that Khalid was stabbed by UC 105 Councillor Rehman and lamented that the Hyderabad police had not made any arrest so far. He said his son was married three years ago and was a labourer by profession. He appealed to the authorities through the media to get the murderer arrested and serve justice to the bereaved family.

MQM-P MNA Abdul Aleem Khanzada and MPA Sabir Hussain Qaimkhani attended the protest. Khanzada urged the Hyderabad SSP to arrest the killers to provide justice to the victim's family. Later, the funeral prayers for Khalid were offered. He was buried at the Tando Yousuf graveyard.
