ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani has become founding chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC).
The decision of his designation was made during Gillani’s recent highly-productive visit to Kuala Lumpur. Later, he attended an exclusive briefing session on the ISC in Seoul. The formal ceremony for installation of the conference would take place during the forthcoming World Summit 2025, sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in Seoul. The summit will be participated by 500 representatives and 45 speakers of parliaments from 150 countries.
An award was bestowed upon Gillani as a mark of recognition of his visionary leadership, bearing a citation counting his unwavering commitment to building bridges between legislative bodies and advancing a shared global agenda of peace, prosperity and democratic values.
