JI Punjab chief flays IMF’s anti-Pakistan policies
Kasuri emphasises JI’s solidarity with farmers and their commitment to protecting their rights
JARANWALA: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Punjab Javaid Kasuri has stated that the IMF aims to destabilise Pakistan and is pursuing an agenda detrimental to the agriculture sector.
Addressing a press conference here, he asserted that the IMF’s objectives are not aligned with Pakistan’s stability and that the current rulers’ policies are proving destructive for the nation and the people of Punjab, making them a liability.
He emphasised JI’s solidarity with farmers and their commitment to protecting their rights. He refuted the government’s claims regarding providing cheap roti, suggesting that subsidies should be directed to flour mills. He criticised the exploitation of farmers through the purchase of cheap wheat, which he alleged allowed flour mills to operate as a mafia. He reiterated the demand for the farmers’ interests and condemned human rights violations in the country.
He stressed that Pakistan belongs to its 250 million citizens and cannot be governed according to the desires of a few families, emphasising the need for the rule of law and the constitution. He acknowledged PTI’s right to protest, noting their ongoing demonstrations, and stated that JI does not support political victimisation.
