Aqeel, Barkatullah to vie for Masters Cup crown
ISLAMABAD: Aqeel Khan and Barkatullah have made it to the final of the Serena Masters Cup being played under the Serena Hotels Sports Diplomacy initiative at the PTF/DA Complex.
Aqeel outplayed Mohammad Abid 7-5, 6-3 with Barkatullah overpowering Yousaf Khalil 6-1, 2-6, 7-6(3). In women’s semis, Sheeza Sajid overwhelmed Mahrukh Sajid 7-6(5), 6-3 with Ushna Suhail outplaying Meheq Khokhar 6-0, 6-1.
President-PTF Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, who met players, stated that Serena Hotels is playing a vital role in the development of tennis in Pakistan. “This is the 3rd edition of the Serena Masters Cup, and we hope to take it to other cities in Pakistan,” Aisam thanked Aziz Boolani, CEO Serena Hotels, for his continuous support and encouragement of tennis in Pakistan.

Men’s doubles semifinal: Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi & Aqeel Khan bt Heera Ashiq & Hamza Roman 6-2, 6-2; Shahzad Khan & Muhammad Abid bt Barkatullah & Yousaf Khalil 6-4, 6-4. Ladies’ singles semi-finals: Sheeza Sajid bt Mahrukh Sajid 7-6(5), 6-3; Ushna Suhail bt Meheq Khokhar 6-0, 6-1.
