Security upped in Hazara
ABBOTTABAD: Over 6,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure a safe Eidul Fitr celebration in all the seven districts of Hazara Division, officials said on Tuesday.
They said the massive deployment is part of a comprehensive security plan issued by Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Hazara range, Nasir Mahmoud Satti.The security plan, they said, included the deployment of operational staff, traffic wardens, elite force, SSU, ladies police, special branch, and CTD personnel.
DIG Hazara Nasir Mahmoud Satti had directed all District Police Officers (DPOs) to personally monitor the Eid security plan in their respective districts. He had directed DPOs for planned Traffic Management and asked for comprehensive traffic to ensure efficient traffic flow, with traffic staff adopting the best strategies to maintain order.
The officials said that legal action would be taken against those engaging in aerial firing, fireworks, drifting, and van-wheeling.Enhanced security measures would also be taken to protect Chinese nationals working on development projects in the region, they added.They said that the police were always ready to deal with any emergency situation and all possible measures would be taken to ensure the safety and security of visiting tourists.
