Ramazan package: KP government accused of corruption funds
PESHAWAR: Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs and Pakistan Muslim League leader Ikhtiar Wali Khan has accused the provincial government of misappropriating billions of rupees allocated for the Ramazan package.
In a statement, he claimed that instead of reaching the poor, the funds were distributed exclusively among Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters.Ikhtiar Wali alleged that the money, which was meant to provide relief to the underprivileged during the holy month of Ramazan, was instead handed out in advance to participants of a potential post-Eid protest march. He criticised the PTI-led government for what he described as blatant corruption, even in charitable funds meant for the needy.
“The PTI has shamelessly consumed the money intended for the poor during Ramazan. The Gandapur government is so corrupt that it has even misused funds from Zakat and charity,” Ikhtiar Wali stated. He asked Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to fear divine retribution for depriving the poor of essential aid during the holy month.
Ikhtiar Wali demanded the KP government to publicly release the list of people who received the financial aid of Rs 10,000 each under the Ramazan package. He urged transparency in the distribution process and called for accountability for those responsible for the alleged misuse of funds.
