LDA to make sports complexes operational
LAHORE : In order to promote healthy living standards in the provincial metropolis, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to operationalise all its sports complexes in the City.
In this regard, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of LDA DG Tahir Farooq on LDA Sports Complexes here on Wednesday. Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed and Director Sports LDA Khurram Yaqoob gave a briefing in the meeting.
A briefing was given on LDA Sports Complex West Canal near EME and Sports Complex Minar Pakistan. LDA Sports Complex Gulberg, Sabzazar and Tajpura are running successfully. The membership campaign of LDA Sports Complex West Canal near EME was going on successfully while the membership was being offered at a discounted price to members who come first to obtain membership.
LDA DG Tahir Farooq extended the date of the promotional campaign for the membership of LDA Sports Complex West Canal near EME. DG LDA Tahir Farooq said that members who come till April 10 will be provided membership at a discounted price. DG LDA directed for running a membership campaign for LDA Sports Complex Minar Pakistan.
In the meeting, Director Sports gave a briefing on the operational and administrative issues of sports complexes. In the meeting, the DG LDA directed for immediately resolving the issues faced by the Sports Complex Islamia Ground. In the meeting, the DG LDA said that the purpose of sports complexes was to provide opportunities for sports and physical activity facilities to the citizens.
The DG LDA further directed for making the membership of sports complexes more convenient and improving the services. The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer LDA, Additional DGs, Chief Town Planner and officers concerned.
Meanwhile, another important meeting was held under the chairmanship of DG LDA Tahir Farooq regarding the special tree plantation campaign on World Forest Day. Additional DG UP Mudassar Ahmed Shah and Director Environment Rehan Athar gave a briefing in the meeting.
In the meeting, DG LDA Tahir Farooq said that on the directions of the CM, LDA will launch a special campaign under "Plant for Pakistan" on World Forest Day. LDA will plant more than 215,000 saplings in the city in collaboration with the private sector.
LDA will also plant saplings and distribute them free of cost at Avenue One, Jubilee Town, Sabzazar, LDA City and other places. LDA will plant 150,000 saplings with the cooperation of private housing schemes. Free saplings will also be distributed to citizens visiting LDA Citizen Facilitation Center and Avenue One.
All housing directors of LDA will also plant saplings in their respective schemes. LDA will distribute saplings free of cost at various points in the city.
DG LDA Tahir Farooq said that children of LDA schools should also participate enthusiastically in the special campaign. DG LDA Tahir Farooq said that steps will continue to make the provincial capital green and clean under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The meeting was attended by Additional DG UP, Chief Engineer, Chief Town Planners, Director Environment and Chief Metropolitan Planning.
